Key West The Band, out of Port Arthur, Texas, was started by guitar player Jerry Diaz. Jerry was a longtime fan of recording artist Jimmy Buffett’s music and lifestyle, so he incorporated Buffett's Gulf & Western sound into a Gulf Coast version. The band combines elements of Buffett’s music with zydecajun, calypso, and latin influences, to create what they fondly refer to as "Caribbean Rock-n-Roll".
